Consequences of dark witch craft

“Can Magick be Dangerous?”

I was reading one of my favourite Craft related magazines the other day, an older issue, and I came across a little something that I really wanted to share with you all.
It further emphasizes the need to be careful when performing magick or rituals of any kind, or else the consequences could end up out of your control.
This is a snippet from an anonymous letter:

“I shamefully confess that I have placed a love spell on someone I thought was “the one”. I used only his first name as the focus for my rituals, but I soon found that instead of getting the man I wanted, I was overwhelmed by men with the same name who wanted my contact details. I’ve learnt now to ask the universe to grant my wish, only on the grounds of “if it’s the right thing to do”, rather than sending my energy directly towards my goal. I see this as a major lesson well learnt that manipulating someone’s will is never something that will bring success and also, never to ignore the many messages that I have received from the universe during the time of “wrong doing”.
I am very ashamed for doing this, as when I think about it, the type of person I am, manipulating someone through magick is just so against my nature.”

Of course, this is just one example of how magick, if used incorrectly, can have the opposite effect of what you really intended. Still, it’s a lesson that all of us, at one time or another in our journey down this path, have had to learn.

If this has happened to you, don’t feel ashamed or that somehow, you’ve made the ultimate mistake and your magickal life will never be the same. That’s not the case at all. The Gods recognize the fact that we all make mistakes, it’s how we learn and grow. They don’t normally hold grudges, so if you’re feeling bad for what you’ve done, it’s not the Gods that need to forgive you…you need to forgive yourself first and move on.
